Today was important not only because it was my first anniversary with my boyfriend but also the two-month birthday of my blog.
Kevin and I became close friends over the course of my junior year of college, but our relationship didn’t turn romantic until the last month before summer. Our common taste in music, movies and TV shows led to a deeper bond and appreciation of each other’s company. I’m so happy we were together for my entire senior year. As I wrote in Kevin’s card, “I wouldn’t be who I am today if I hadn’t spent the last year” with him.
When he asked where I wanted to go to dinner tonight, I chose Leonardo’s 706 because it’s only found in Gainesville. We ate our delicious Italian meals and enjoyed extra drinks and cake with a candle from our awesome waitress. Unfortunately, I fell asleep early at 10 p.m. like a post-meal lion.
In addition to toasting our one year together, we also toasted my 2-month-old blog. Even though it feels longer, I still can’t believe I’ve been blogging every day for the past two months. And here’s to many, many more.
Also, my sister-in-law sent me a great column from The Seattle Times urging change in the horse racing industry after Eight Belles’ tragic death at the Kentucky Derby. Read it here: “Racing needs to turn tragedy into reform.”

mmmmm… love that place! That’s where Matt and I spent our first Valentine’s Day (our freshmen year) and our fourth Valentine’s Day (senior year)
Hope you had a fun day!
haha
P.S… falling asleep early is what happens when you get old – trust me, you’ll get used to it
